As the world moves ahead, what is your take on fashion’s role in contributing to positive change?
The contribution to positive change is made by the new generation of fashion designers. They already are making a difference by focusing on environmental issues: sustainable development; use of recycled fabrics and fibres; research in new materials; new kind of craftsmanship; producing local; less but better. By doing so, they influence the whole fashion system, apparel. suppliers, manufacturing etc. And that influence then extends beyond fashion.
What is one trend or article of clothing that will define the coming year?
Smart sexy: already here. Smart Suits: for next winter
What is something you’d love to see in fashion’s future — even if it remains a fantasy?
Less noise, more elegance.
