Hands Up: Victoria / Tomas
“It’s a four-handed collection. We share everything. And then, I take care more of the marketing aspect, and Tomas, the studio, the development of the patterns, the first prototypes. Everything is made in Paris, (except the bags and shoes), and every clothes are reversible. Kiss, the bag of the season, is a two-part bag with two distinct elements. The idea is that everything is convertible. We felt that we had to bring something to the table, not just make clothes, but be more sustainable, more responsible. We wondered how to offer people fewer items, so that they would have more choices. Reversible was only available in outwear, we wanted to extend it to skirts, sweaters, pants. We have always had an artistic vision. It’s essential to touch the fabrics, to be involved in every step of the creation process. This season, we are still working with Cyril Lancelin who dazzled us with his works, his vision, his installations of 3.5 by 3 meters, all in recycled fabric, and inflatable. Everything fits in a cardboard box. Each collection begins with the materials. This season, we have plenty of transparency and shine, it’s a new approach. We love the suit jackets, here the challenge is to mix pleated tulle with classic wool. The fabrics must be soft and pleasant to wear. A garment has to feel soft, embrace the body. Working together, hand in hand, for thirteen years has been a key part of our lives. Even when we were at school, we always asked to share our projects. The hand is a support. The other is always there to reply and to make.”
