The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode (FHCM) brings together the most emblematic French and international design Houses with a focus on creativity and a unique and innovative know-how and coordinates the Paris Fashion Week® and Haute Couture Week.

Paris Fashion Week®

It takes place four times a year, with two editions of Womenswear (Spring/Summer in September and Fall/Winter in March) and two editions of Menswear (Fall/Winter in January and Spring/Summer in June). It is structured by its Official Calendar, around which events of various kinds are organized. Through its economic and cultural importance, it embodies the role of Paris as the world capital of fashion.

The Official Calendar includes both fashion shows and presentations. Its composition is based on the Members of the Chambre Syndicale de la Mode Masculine and the Chambre Syndicale de la Mode Féminine, who are entitled to participate, as well as on the guest Houses. These are selected each season after the applications have been examined by two dedicated consultative committees, one for Womenswear Fashion Week and the other for Menswear Fashion Week, which include two panels of international journalists and buyers renewed each season.

The selection is based on an examination of the creative potential and international outreach of the candidate brands, once the number of open places has been determined.

In 2020, the FHCM launched Paris Fashion Week® Online in partnership with Launchmetrics and with the support of LE DEFI, Official Partner.  The Official Calendars now have a dual physical and digital dimension, while preserving their historical organization principles. The digital platform is a real steppingstone for the visibility of the Houses' collections and provides an opportunity to express the creative power of the fashion shows and presentations. Amplification partnerships have been established with major international media.

In 2019, as part of its policy in favor of sustainable development, the FHCM launched an eco-design tool that can be applied to the entire value chain of fashion shows and presentations, in their physical and digital dimensions. Established with the support of LE DEFI, organized in partnership with PwC and in cooperation with the Member Houses, it is the first eco-design tool capable of offering a globalized environmental and social approach applied to the organization of events. It is available free of charge to Houses participating in the Official Calendars of the Paris Fashion Week®.

A policy of Social and Environmental Responsibility has also been implemented at the Paris Fashion Week® Center, which is held at the Palais de Tokyo. In addition to this, a responsible mobility initiative has been introduced, notably concerning the shuttles made available to professionals. DS Automobiles, Official Partner of Paris Fashion Week®, provides a fleet of hybrid cars for a group of journalists and influencers.

It is structured by its Official Calendar, around which events are organized that reflect the uniqueness of Paris as the only place where Haute Couture creation and the associated know-how are expressed.

The Haute Couture and Haute Joallerie (Fine Jewelry) have a close relationship. During the Haute Couture Week, the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture also organizes the Haute Joaillerie Calendar, during which the associated Haute Joaillerie Houses present their collections.

The Official Calendar of Haute Couture Week brings together the Members of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, corresponding Members and Guest Members selected by the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture Committee which gets together, once the number of open places has been determined.

In 2020, the FHCM launched the Online Haute Couture Week. The Official Calendars now have a dual physical and digital dimension, while preserving their historical organization principles. The digital platform is a real steppingstone for the visibility of the Houses' collections and provides an opportunity to express the creative power of the fashion shows.

In the same way as those participating in the Official Calendar of Paris Fashion Week, the Members that are part of the Haute Couture Week Official Calendar have free access to the eco-design tool implemented by the FHCM.
