To what extent do you think fashion is about proposing/selling dreams? How might this have this have a positive effect on people?
I would rather say that fashion can provoke dreams. I see fashion as a creative field of multidisciplinary experimentation breaking all borders – and this is important to maintain. Sure, there is the economic aspect; but fashion is also a fantastic way to express emotions and creativity.
What is one trend or item of clothing that will define the coming year.
I have always loved very formal items of clothing like suits, uniforms and workwear. Workwear seems to be present across seasons. I’m thinking of Craig Green’s fantastic padded jackets. Workwear for businessmen was also in Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons’s last collection and I thought it showed new energy and reality.
How does this visual speak your dreams of fashion?
The record sleeves of certain music artists from classical to experimental music have always inspired me. Whether The Beatles, Roxy Music, Richard Strauss or Claude Debussy, record sleeves have created this desire of sound and visions combined.
