DS Automobiles: Call on Creativity

Focus

Since it was established in 2014, DS Automobiles seeks to represent the best of French luxury know-how in its industry. Claiming linkage to the great artisans of automotive bodyworks which has built up France’s reputation in the motor industry since the beginning of the 20th century, today, DS Automobiles embodies a new vision in luxury mobility. For the DS brand, luxury is expressed through creativity and expertise.

Yesterday’s innovative experiments are today’s expertise. Mastering them has been a precious accomplishment, a source of contemporary innovation. The evolution of materials, as well as of manual and digital tools have opened up a wide range of possibilities. DS Automobiles already works with the best artisans to design its vehicles.

The studios of Lison de Caunes, Cécile Feilchenfeldt, Maison Lesage and Anna LeCorno / FAROUCHE Paris were the first to dare to confront their expertise for the contours of DS. From the bodywork to the interior trim and including the upholstery, DS Automobiles unrelentingly pursues excellence and attention to details. We want to create a unique dialogue between the best in French luxury know-how and digital creativity.

In a world where craftsmen are most often left in the shadows of their sponsors, DS AUTOMOBILES wants to showcase them and support them through a unique collaboration, in the form of “Call on Creativity”. The jury got together in July to view the work of ten candidates and enjoy an exchange of views via video conference with each of them to better understand their personality and background.

The jury comprised seven members: Pascal Morand, executive president of the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, Lison de Caunes, Master of art in straw marquetry, Hubert Barrère, Artistic director of Maison Lesage and corset maker, Anna Le Corno, Cabinet maker and creative at the studio Farouche Paris, Béatrice Foucher, DS Automobiles CEO, Thierry Metroz, DS Automobiles Design Director and Jean-Philippe Vanhulle, DS Automobiles Head of the upholstery studio.

The winner will then make the entire interior trim for a unique DS 9.
