We asked Victoria Feldman and Tomas Berzins of the Victoria/Tomas creative label about the inspirations of the collection and the brand’s commitments.

On the occasion of your Summer 2021 fashion show, you revealed a new concept of reversible fashion. How did it come about?
The confinement has put the whole fashion world on pause. During this break we took our time to think. We didn’t want to come back to Fashion Week in September with “one more collection”. We felt it was time for us to make the changes.

In addition, this collection marks an even more responsible approach. How does this manifest itself?
Collections 100% Made in France. The confinement and closure of borders have highlighted the fragility of fashion brands’ production systems. We decided to manufacture all its pieces in France from A to Z, which has a drastic effect on the brand’s carbon footprint: instead of the seven journeys a piece makes between the factories in Portugal or Italy and the end customer, it now makes only two.
From now on, our collections will be entirely made up of reversible silhouettes that translate the brand’s identity, reflecting the concept of the pair, each time with two completely different proposals: on the one hand, a basic piece for everyday life, inspired by the codes of workwear and the simplicity of the men’s wardrobe; on the other, a more elaborate creation with feminine details, such as precious embroideries or subtly draped silk sleeves. More than a simple game of reversibility, the pieces become truly double-sided to switch between styles according to moods or occasions. A completely new way of dressing, unique in the world of luxury, which allows you to pull twice as much from a single piece, reducing the need for consumption.

You’ve made the choice to do a fashion show this season. What does it mean to you?
The fashion show is always an important and magical moment for us. To launch this new concept, we wanted to share this new moment in physics. This year the circumstances have changed our lives a lot, but we wanted to keep this moment of joy, sharing and emotion despite everything.
