AIREI (LA, USA)
Designed by Drew Curry, AIREI is a Los Angeles-based brand whose name is a Greek contranym that means both “to lift up” and “to cut away.”
The heart of AIREI is about promoting humanity by elevating the perception of the outcasts, the forgotten, and the misunderstood. AIREI joined the Paris Fashion Week Menswear official calendar in January 2022.
LIBERAL YOUTH MINISTRY (Guadalajara, Mexico)
Liberal Youth Ministry (LYM) is a Guadalajara-based brand founded by Mexican designer, Antonio Zaragoza, in November 2016. Each collection approaches the universality of youth and is deeply influenced by subcultures, political and spiritual youth movements. The FW20 collection launched in January 2020 within Dover Street Market Paris (DSMP), the umbrella organization created to support emerging brands, and is presented in the DSMP showroom seasonally during Men’s Paris Fashion Week. For the FW21 collection, LYM introduced womenswear pieces designed in partnership with Antonio’s wife, Kenia Filippini under a new sub-label, DREAM BABY ! Liberal Youth Ministry. The brand is sold at all Dover Street Markets, in addition to several international retailers. Since its inception, the collection has garnered a following that includes musicians Justin Bieber, Bad Bunny, and Kanye West among others. Liberal Youth Ministry joined the Paris Fashion Week Menswear official calendar in January 2022.
PHILEO (Paris, France)
Founded by 19-year-old Philéo Landowski, Paris-based shoe label PHILEO proposes a new take on high-end footwear. Launched in 2019, the label strives to create retro-inflected collections with minimum ecological impact, improving each collection’s carbon footprint and using non-animal materials, like canvas or plant-based alternatives to leather.
From the ancient Greek meaning “I Love”, PHILEO brings the designer’s passions to the surface by transforming his emotions into a collection.
RASSVET (Moscow, Russia)
Rassvet (PACCBET) is a community of like-minded Muscovites bringing a new energy to the fashion, art, skateboarding and the music scene in their city. This new generation of creatives work closely together to cultivate various projects with the objective of bringing their vision of modern Russia to the world.
The word Rassvet, meaning “sunrise”, illustrates this community’s common desire to highlight a new dawn in Russian youth culture.
Founded in 2016 by multi-disciplinary artist (and Comme des Garcons alumni) Gosha Rubchinskiy and pro-skater Tolia Titaev, Rassvet has been embraced by the skateboarding industry. As its name suggest, the brand is dedicated to representing and exploring the style and language of a new generation of young Russian rebels through Rubchinskiy’s distinctive re-appropriation and re-engineering of skatewear classics.
SKY HIGH FARM WORKWEAR (Hudson Valley, NY)
Founded by Dan Colen, SHF entered into an ambitious merchandise project with DSM that involved collaborations with mission-aligned brands such as Supreme, Kara Walker, The Gordon Parks Foundation, Jeff Koons, Jon Gray’s Gastronomical, CDG SHIRT and Balenciaga. Notably, the Farm received 100% of the project’s proceeds. Colen proceeds to launch the inaugural collection of Sky High Farm Workwear (SHFWW) in February 2022. A benevolent brand that exists explicitly for the purpose of donating 100 percent of its profits to the 501(C)(3), this furthering its mission, this unique model creates an accessible entry point to the Farm’s work, galvanizing every customer to action as an activist and donor on behalf of food sovereignty and land justice.
The spirit of SHFWW is rooted in rugged and utilitarian pastoral workwear, inffused with a delicacy, romance and playfulness that is captured in its choice of materiality and imagery. It is creatively directed by Colen but engages a burgeoning community of creatives such as embroideries by Marc Armitano Domingo, jovial cartoons by Max Louis Creative and the Farm’s beloved logos, illustrated by Joana Avillez. A limited-edition salvaged leather jacket by artist Maurizio Cattelan features the slogan ‘Eat Life’ in his signature duct tape.
All stores invited to purchase the collection commit to a guaranteed donation back to SHF, while partners are encouraged to only buy what they can sell. The collection emphasises products and fabrications that are more sustainable: whether they incorporate vintage, deadstock, recycled materials, or utilise the best in earth-friendly production methods and technologies.
