Emergency Room
From March 2-8th 2023, Beirut-based brand Emergency Room will present its collection at Untitled Showroom. Launched by designer Eric Mathieu Ritter in 2018, Emergency Room is a clothing brand with a mind of its own. Stemming from the belief that fashion production processes urgently need to change, Emergency Room sets sustainable and ethical alternative standards to clothing creation. Emergency Room uses unique vintage materials and dead-stock fabrics that are locally sourced to create one-of-a-kind pieces, providing a conscious and authentic ready-to-wear-line. All items are produced in different workshops and cooperatives throughout Lebanon, inviting differently skilled artisans to participate in the process, all the while lobbying for grassroots change throughout the industry.
The Autumn-Winter 2023 ‘Borderline’ collection questions the existence and control of borders, travel documents, travel restrictions and freedom of movement. In line with Emergency Room’s sustainable approach to design and production processes, this collection features a series of items emblazoned or printed with passport covers and visa stamps, as well as upcycled patchwork pieces that mix sports scarves, sports jerseys and colourful flags.
