The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode pays tribute to André Leon Talley who passed away on January 18th 2022.

Journalist, fashion critic and consultant, André Leon Talley was a respected and internationally esteemed figure in the fashion industry.

André Leon Talley worked for the most prestigious fashion editors including Interview under Andy Warhol, WWD, Vanity Fair, The New York Times, House & Garden, then became fashion director at Vogue from 1983 to 1987 before being appointed creative director and then editor in chief. “André Leon Talley was a giant in our profession who amazed you with his erudition and analysis of trends and collections. Most importantly, he was the only person I saw at a Karl Lagerfeld collection preview stand up to Karl and convince him to change the direction of his collection. It is a scene that has remained engraved in my memory.” Ralph Toledano, President of the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode.
